Being a Validator is a privilege earned through hard work, long hours, and dedication. We must be worthy of the delegations and trust we receive from the Sifchain family.

The Validator Delegation Council (VDC) is introducing a new Code of Conduct (CdC) that will be followed by all Validators (and employees, partners, interns, freelancers, volunteer etc) to 1) validate on the Sifchain Blockchain and 2) be eligible to receive a delegation from the VDC.

Sifchain is committed to upholding the highest standard of ethical conduct. All Sifchain Validators (and their employees, partners, interns, freelancers, volunteers etc) are expected to conduct themselves ethically, lawfully, professionally and in compliance with this Code of Conduct.

Sifchain’s Code of Conduct is based on several principles that govern our community. The principles are set out below.

Fairness and respect

Sifchain is committed to conducting all its affairs with fairness, respect and equity and this includes the treatment of Validators, stake and token holders, customers, suppliers, partners and competitors. We believe that how we treat one another directly affects the health and success of our Chain and each Validators and Users who interact with Sifchain.

Ethical conduct

Operate with the highest standards of ethical conduct: Sifchain strives to achieve the highest degree of ethical conduct and recognizes that our users have a right to integrity and honesty in all their dealings with us. As a representative of Sifchain, you must conduct yourself in a manner that demonstrates commitment to the highest standards of personal integrity, and in ways that respect the reputation and position of trust placed upon Sifchain.

You must be fair and honest in all your dealings with Sifchain Users, stake and token holders, suppliers, partners, competitors and other Validators. You also must not knowingly induce a family member of Sifchain or of another organization to breach that organization’s code of conduct.

Conflict of interest

Avoid Conflicts of interest, both in action and in appearance:

You are required to act with honesty and integrity and to avoid any relationship or activity that might create, or appear to create, a conflict between your personal interest and the interest of Sifchain. “Conflicts of interest" arise where your private interests interfere in any way with the interests of Sifchain.

A conflict of interest can arise when you take actions or have interests that may interfere with the performance of your work with Sifchain. You must perform your responsibilities on the basis of what is in the best interests of Sifchain, free from the influence of personal considerations and third party relationships. You must avoid acting in a manner that is not in the best interests of Sifchain or our stake and token holders.

You must avoid situations that might create the appearance of a conflict of interest, whether or not it actually exists and whether or not you believe you would be improperly influenced.
